Need to return something? This policy covers how to start a return, how long you have, what it costs, and what we do when something arrives damaged, defective, or wrong.
This Policy applies to products purchased directly from Holley Inc. and its subsidiaries, commonly known as Holley Performance Brands, by end consumers through Holley Performance Brands’ websites or Technical Services departments. It does not apply to purchases made through authorized dealers, distributors, or third-party marketplaces. Those returns must be processed through the seller under its own return policy.
This Policy covers returns, defective and damaged product claims, and non-returnable items. Product warranties are separate: coverage, duration, and remedies are set by the warranty that came with your product, which stays with the product regardless of where it was purchased. Refer to the warranty documentation in the box or the applicable brand website, or call us and we’ll point you to it.
| Situation | Return Type | See |
|---|---|---|
| Product is unused, not installed and you’ve changed your mind | Standard Return | Section 3 |
| Product has arrived damaged, defective or you were shipped the wrong item | Damaged, Defective, or Wrong | Section 4 |
| Product is one of the items listed in non-returnable | Non-Returnable, unless product arrived defective or is under warranty | Section 5 |
| Product no longer works as intended | Warranty claim – see your product warranty | Not covered by this Policy |
Not sure? Call us at 800-638-0032 or email [email protected] and we’ll help make sure your situation gets resolved as quickly as possible.
Every return follows the same five-step process:
Important: An RMA is required before shipping anything back to Holley. Packages sent without one may be refused. If we receive a package with no RMA, we’ll hold it thirty (30) days while we try to reach you; after that it may be disposed of.
Use a standard return for new, uninstalled, unused products. You have 90 days from delivery to start one. After 90 days, we no longer accept standard returns. Defective product claims follow their own timeline (Section 4), and warranty claims are governed by your product’s warranty.
| Return Type | Restocking Fee |
|---|---|
| All products excluding Safety Gear, Apparel, Chemicals, and Electronics | 15% (cap of $250) within 90 days of delivery |
| Safety Gear (Technical Safety Apparel & Helmets) | Free within 30 days, then 15% (cap of $250) within 90 days of delivery |
| Apparel (Non-Technical Apparel) | Free within 30 days, then 15% (cap of $250) within 90 days of delivery |
| Chemicals (Cataclean, Car Care, Oils and misc.) | Not returnable once shipped* |
| Electronics | Not returnable once opened* |
*Unless damaged, defective or you received the wrong product (Section 4) or covered by your product warranty.
For Safety Gear and Apparel, the first 30 days are your fit window. Within 30 days of delivery you can return the item for a full refund or exchange it for a different size of the same product, with no restocking fee either way. Exchanges are free: we cover return shipping and nothing is deducted from your refund. You get one exchange per item. Exchanges are handled as a return plus a new order; contact us to begin the process. Items must be unused, with tags attached, in their original packaging. After day 30, the standard 15% restocking fee (capped at $250) applies through day 90.
For a full refund (minus any restocking fee), items must come back in like-new (resaleable) condition:
Category-specific requirements:
Condition-based deductions. We inspect every return before issuing a refund, and we don’t issue any refund until inspection is complete. If an item comes back installed, used, incomplete, or with damaged packaging, we deduct based on its actual condition, up to 35% of the purchase price. The $250 cap does not apply to condition-based deductions. If components or packaging are missing, we may also deduct their replacement cost. In some cases, we may reject the return and send the item back to you at your expense. This deduction replaces the standard restocking fee rather than adding to it.
Arrived defective, damaged, or not what you ordered? We will work to resolve the situation.
Don’t wait. These windows are tight. Report visible shipping damage within 72 hours of delivery, hidden damage within 15 days, and a defective item within 15 days. Miss the window and your claim may have to go through the slower standard warranty process instead.
| Situation | Report Within | What Happens |
|---|---|---|
| Defective | 15 days from delivery | Prepaid label sent. Full refund including original shipping, or a replacement – your choice. |
| Visible shipping damage | 72 hours from delivery | Send photos of the carton, the product, and the shipping label. We file the carrier claim. |
| Hidden (concealed) damage | 15 days from delivery | Same photo requirements. We file the carrier claim. |
| Wrong or incomplete order | 15 days from delivery | We send the right item at no charge and skip the restocking fee. |
On damage claims, hold on to the item. Don’t ship anything back until we’ve reviewed your claim. We’ll tell you if we need it returned, and we’ll cover that shipping if we do.
Safety first. Don’t ship damaged or defective chemicals back — shipping oils, aerosols, or flammable liquids through a parcel carrier can be unsafe and is often prohibited. Call us instead and we’ll walk you through a simple photo-and-disposal process, then issue your refund or replacement.
These items are final sale, unless they arrive defective (Section 4) or are covered by your product warranty:
Digital products and downloads (software, extended warranties, protection fees)
Build-to-order or custom products
Configured Safety Gear (Technical Safety Apparel & Helmets)
Clearance items marked final sale
Limited stock (LTS) or Last Chance items
Obsolete (OBS) items
Chemicals (Cataclean, Car Care, Oils and misc.), once shipped
Electronics, once opened or with the manufacturer seal broken
Factory-refurbished products can be returned for repair or replacement within 90 days of delivery.
| Return Reason | Return Shipping | Original Shipping Refunded |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Returns | You — prepaid label available for $12.99 (standard parcel; see 6.1) | No |
| Safety Gear or Apparel exchange (within 30 days) | Holley | No |
| Defective | Holley | Yes |
| Arrived damaged | Holley | Yes |
| Wrong item sent | Holley | Yes |
| Warranty claim | Holley | No |
Processing a Standard Return? You choose how it ships back.
Either way, there’s no deduction when the return is our fault (defective, damaged, wrong item) or when you’re exchanging Safety Gear or Apparel within 30 days — we cover those.
What can come out of your refund. On a Standard Return, only two things reduce your refund: the restocking fee from the table in Section 3.1, and the $12.99 label fee if you choose to use our label. We do not deduct the original shipping cost on free-shipping orders. Extended warranties, shipping upgrades, and protection fees aren’t refundable.
Returns requiring LTL freight, hazmat handling, or specialized carrier service need to be coordinated with Customer Service before shipment, and the $12.99 flat label fee does not apply. We’ll quote the cost before you ship. Holley arranges and pays return freight for defective products, shipping damage, order errors, and qualifying warranty claims. Where a product can’t be shipped safely or legally, we may authorize disposal at your location instead of a return. We’ll tell you exactly what to document, and misrepresenting the condition may result in the credit being reversed.
On international returns, you’re responsible for return shipping, customs duties, taxes, and brokerage fees unless Holley specifically authorizes a prepaid international label. Original duties and taxes on outbound international shipments aren’t refundable by Holley, though you may be able to recover them from your local customs authority.
7.1. Return Abuse
Holley reserves the right to refuse returns, deny warranty service, or restrict future purchases for customers exhibiting patterns of return abuse, including but not limited to excessive return frequency relative to purchase history; return of products showing clear signs of use following the return window (“wardrobing”); repeated warranty claims for products outside warranty coverage; and misrepresentation of product condition at time of return. Decisions under this section are at Holley’s sole discretion. Customers will be notified in writing and may appeal to Customer Service.
7.2. Policy Changes
Holley reserves the right to modify, update, or replace this Policy at any time and in its sole discretion. The most current version will be posted at www.holley.com and will indicate its effective date.
The version of this Policy in effect at the time a product is purchased governs the return and warranty rights for that purchase. Modifications will not retroactively reduce the return or warranty rights applicable to products purchased before the effective date of the modification. By making a purchase after a modification takes effect, the customer agrees to the updated Policy then in effect; customers who do not agree to a modification should refrain from making purchases from Holley.
Holley will use reasonable efforts to provide notice of material changes through prominent posting on its website, by email to customers with active warranty claims or pending returns, or through other appropriate means.
7.3. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW: HOLLEY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS OR INTERRUPTIONS. HOLLEY’S TOTAL LIABILITY RELATED TO RETURNED PRODUCTS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT.
7.4. Exceptions
Any exception to this Policy:
• Must be approved in writing by Holley’s Vice President of Customer Service prior to return, and
• Will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
7.5. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Policy and any dispute arising out of or relating to it shall be governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Customer and Holley agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee.
Informal resolution. Before initiating any formal proceeding, the customer agrees to contact Holley Customer Service in writing at [email protected] and to allow Holley at least thirty (30) days to attempt to resolve the dispute. Most disputes can be resolved through this process.
