Installing an OEM Mopar Active Exhaust Valve Actuator on a Flowmaster Dodge Challenger Tailpipe is easier than it sounds. First, remove the three 8mm nuts – but not all the way. When they're mostly off, depress the motor slightly with your thumb because there's a spring behind it and you don't want all that spring tension on the last few threads of the last stud. Next, take them off by hand and remove the motor. The spring might fall come off with hit; if it does, don't worry – the spring's "S" shape will make obvious exactly how it goes back on.
Installing a new motor onto an Outlaw Cat-Back Tailpipe is simple. All the hardware is included with the motor, and the only tools you'll need are an 1/8-inch Allen wrench, a 3/8-inch wrench, and some thread-locker. Install the three smaller Allen bolts on the back side of the mounting bracket, and tighten the aluminum stands, first by hand and then with the wrench. Place the spring on the valve, position the motor up against the spring, rotate it clockwise, and the holes should line up perfectly. Then just bolt it in place using the larger fasteners and you're off to the races.
